形態特徵

Rhizome 4-5 mm wide, dark brown when dry; scales few except at the base of stipes; scales clathrate, nearly entire, dark-brown, linear-lanceolate.
Stipes stramineous, puberulent; fronds 30-40 cm long, pinnae 2.5-3.5 cm long, patent, adnate to rachis wing, apex obtuse, lowest pairs somewhat shortened; both surfaces very densely pubescent; venation not visible because of the abundance of the short hairs.
Sori round, closely spaced, in one row on the either side of costa.
This species is similiar to <i>P. nipponicum</i> Mett in having fronds that are pubescent on both surfaces but differs in having the lower pinnae patent and shortened (not deflexed) in having a puberulous stipe and by its very long rhizome scales.
